The ICPC Serves You

Partner With the ICPC

The demands placed on law enforcement personnel are too often shouldered alone. The ICPC is here to change that. Over the course of their career, the daily emotional and mental challenges faced by your officers have profound cumulative impact on their quality of life and the quality of life of those who depend on them. They have a job to do, and we're here to make sure they have a life to get back to at the end of the day, and at the end of their service.

Put Us to Work

Inside the Lines, Outside the Box

ICPC chaplains serve at your pleasure and answer to you, the agency head. But, as dedicated volunteers or vocational personnel who sit outside the normal chain of command, they are your special resources to address the often delicate, personal challenges your team faces with accountability and discretion.

ICPC for New and Renewed Programs

Starting a chaplaincy can seem daunting. ICPC simplifies the process with expert guidance tailored to your agency’s needs. From identifying suitable candidates to establishing clear protocols, we help you lay a foundation for success. Our training ensures chaplains are equipped with the skills to support your officers and their families with professionalism and compassion.

Even the best chaplaincy programs can benefit from growth and refinement. ICPC provides advanced training opportunities, resources, and credentialing to enhance chaplain effectiveness. Our expertise helps agencies expand the chaplain’s role, deepen the chaplains accountability, and introduce innovative practices that galvanize trust and resilience within your team.

Called to Serve

When you partner with ICPC, you gain more than a program—you gain a staunch ally; relationally, practically, and spiritually committed to your success. This is more than a job for us, just like it's more than a job for you. Together, we ensure chaplains provide the professional, compassionate care that officers and their families deserve. Whether your goal is to launch a chaplaincy or enhance an existing one, ICPC stands ready to support you at every step.

Among other duties, chaplains:

  • • Offer emotional, relational, and spiritual care to officers, families, and communities.
  • • Assist with crisis response, including death notifications and victim support.
  • • Normalize wellness practices, reducing stigma around mental health.
  • • Build trust through presence, ride-alongs, and confidentiality.
  • • Help officers process trauma and regain strength to serve.

Take the First Step

Why the ICPC?

ICPC sets the standard for law enforcement chaplaincy.

• Comprehensive Training: In-person and virtual seminars, and online resources prepare chaplains for the complexities of their role.

Credentialing and Accountability: Our credentialing program recognizes and rewards excellence among peers, creates transparency and accountability to your agency, and ensures chaplains maintain high professional standards at all times.

Peer Support and Networking: Members join a worldwide community of chaplains, sharing insights, resources, and member support to strengthen their work.

Technical Support: From launching programs to managing crises, ICPC offers the tools and guidance agencies need.

Here to Stay, Here to Serve

The ICPC was established in 1973 in response to the tragic automobile deaths of three Internal Revenue Service agents. Within two months of its formation, 300 chaplains from across the United States had applied for membership, and we have been growing ever since.

We're here because we want to make a difference in your agency.
